I forrige uke skrev vi om spillene som var nominerte. Nå har Game Critics Awards-juryen endelig bestemt seg for hva som imponerte aller mest under en hektisk E3-spillmesse i Los Angles i juni.
«BioShock Infinite» knuste konkurrentene og vant flest priser, blant annet den prestisjefulle: Best fra E3 2011. I tillegg ble det ytterligere tre priser for spillet vi i PressFire fikk mulighet til å se nærmere på under E3.
Overraskende nok fikk ikke «Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception» en eneste pris, til tross for at PS3-spillet var nominert i like mange kategorier som «BioShock Infinite» (fire). Disse to spillene var nominert i mange av de samme kategoriene, og «BioShock» vant altså alle. Heller ikke storselgeren «Call of Duty» fikk mye kjærlighet fra Game Critics Awards-juryen.
«Modern Warfare 3» var nominert i kategorien beste online flerspiller, men det var et svenskutviklet spill som vant. «Battlefield 3» ble nemlig kåret til beste actionspill, i tillegg til beste multiplayer, mens «FIFA 12» ble stemt frem som årets sportsspill. «Forza Motorsport 4» vant i «motorklassen» og Sonys nye håndholdtkonsoll, Vita, vant i kategorien «beste hardware». Nintendos Wii U var også nominert, men ble altså slått av PSP-oppfølgeren.
Game Critics Awards er en sammenslutning som er representert av de 35 største og viktigste spillmediene i USA. Kriteriene for at et spill skal bli nominert (og ha sjansen til å vinne) er at koden som vises under E3 må være spillbar for juryen. Og aller helst imponere stort.
